As TenneT plays our part in leading the transition to a greener future, we also aim to lead as a green and responsible grid operator in how we conduct our own business.
Our long term ambition
Develop and grow responsibly
Although the urgency to develop a zero-carbon energy system has never been greater, we must develop our infrastructure in a sustainable manner. That means being responsible in the materials we use to create our assets and ensuring our infrastructure delivers long-term value for society. We must also grow responsibly in terms of the people we hire to help us realise our ambitions. Also, there are limits to the spaces available for us to build our assets in the natural landscape.
We have long-term ambitions for circularity, the climate and nature, each of which is connected to a specific United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). As such, we make sure responsibility is woven into everything we do.
Europe's climate objectives are becoming increasingly ambitious. The urgency of climate measures and their complexity combine to form a challenging environment for TenneT. We are faced with major developments, both now and in the future.
The multiplicity and diversity of our stakeholder group illustrates the complexity of the environment in which we operate. Although we value our relationships with all of our stakeholders, there are certain groups that have a greater influence on us and vice versa than others.
