Last Minute Risk Analysis (English)

A Last Minute Risk Analysis (LMRA) is a short assessment that is performed immediately before the start of work to identify and exclude all potential safety, health and environmental hazards at the workplace.

Why LMRA

LMRA Card (ENG)

What is an LMRA?

The LMRA is a short assessment that is performed immediately before the start of work to identify and exclude all potential safety, health and environmental hazards at the workplace.
Any previously unknown hazards can then be recognised, and incidents prevented. The focus of the LMRA is 'hazards at the workplace' with direct influences from the surroundings and current conditions. The LMRA supplements existing risk assessments, but is not a replacement.

Who does an LMRA?

Although anyone can do the LMRA, it is primarily aimed at workers in high risk areas, such as construction sites, platforms, vessels, substations, cables and overhead lines. This includes TenneT employees and contractor staff.

How to do an LMRA

After familiarising yourself with the job you are about to start and the relevant documentation (e.g. permit to work, risk assessment, work instruction), take the time to check whether all the risks have been identified and mitigated to an acceptable level. Ask yourself the questions printed on the LMRA card. If they can all be answered with ‘Yes’, you can start/continue your work. If any of them has been answered with ‘No’, then STOP. Inform your manager and together, take all the necessary measures to work safely. And if necessary, make an incident report.

How often do you do an LMRA?

You perform the LMRA before each work activity and each time you resume work after a long pause. Finally, you perform the LMRA whenever circumstances have changed in your work (e.g. applying a different work method, different machinery), after a malfunction of equipment or a system, or any other unexpected events.
