Administrator of the national high-voltage grid
The Dutch Electricity Act of 1998 defines TenneT as the sole independent administrator of the national high-voltage grid. As the only transmission system operator (TSO) in the Netherlands, we are responsible for managing the transmission grid, connecting electricity producers to the grid, transporting electricity and balancing the electricity supply with demand.
Continuously monitoring the electricity supply in the Netherlands and maintaining the equilibrium between supply and demand.
Maintaining and managing the high-voltage grid (110 kV and higher) in the Netherlands and investing in its infrastructure.
Facilitating the electricity market and promoting an integrated market for electricity in North West Europe.
