Pieter Verboom, Chair of the Supervisory Board, said: "TenneT has gone through enormous developments in the sixteen years that Mel Kroon was at the helm as CEO. The Supervisory Board is extremely grateful to Mel Kroon for his visionary stewardship. Under his inspiring leadership TenneT has become the leading Transmission System Operator (TSO) in north-west Europe."
At the same time the Supervisory Board welcomes Manon van Beek (47) to TenneT. She is currently Country Managing Director of Accenture B.V. Netherlands. For many years Van Beek was also responsible for Accenture's utilities portfolio in the Netherlands and at European level. Pieter Verboom: "Manon van Beek brings to us a solid knowledge of the utilities industry. She also has ample experience in digital techniques and innovation, both of which are strategically important to TenneT. With her proven leadership qualities we have every confidence that TenneT will continue playing a prominent role in the energy transition."
Manon van Beek: "I consider it a privilege to lead TenneT in a decade in which I believe the acceleration towards a sustainable energy system will be developed and implemented. The transition to a sustainable society requires innovation and stakeholder dialogue and I will be happy to make my contribution to this societal challenge at a crucial juncture in the energy transition. I'm excited to do this from the perspective of TenneT, which created highly reliable and resilient high-voltage grids in the Netherlands and Germany over the past two decades, under the direction of Mel Kroon."
