We are primarily tasked with providing power transmission services, system services and facilitating the energy market. Our core tasks follow from our appointment as grid operator under the Dutch 'Elektriciteitswet' (E-wet) and the German 'Energiewirtschaftsgesetz' (EnWG).
Current information on the generation (production) of electricity in the Netherlands.
Explanation on the charts
This chart shows the actual and planned electricity generation in the Netherlands, i.e. the generation of electricity by producers connected to the grid. Electricity in the Netherlands is produced primairly from natural gas and coal. There are also a number of producers that generate electricity from sustainable sources such as wind, solar, biomass and ambient heat, although on a smaller scale.
