Our grid

TenneT manages the high-voltage grid in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany. TenneT transmits electricity at 110,000 volts (110 kV) and higher. With around 23,000 kilometres of high-voltage lines, we cross borders and connect countries.

Green financing

In 2015 TenneT published a Green Bonds Framework which serves as a structure for verifying the sustainability quality of the projects to be financed through the issuance of green debt instruments. The Framework was prepared in collaboration with oekom research AG.

Moody's Green Bond Assessment

Moody's Investors Service has performed a "Green Bond Assessment" on bonds issued pursuant to TenneT Holding B.V. Euro Medium Term Note Programme and existing Green Bond Framework. Moody's has assigned a GB1 ("Excellent") rating which is the highest rating on its five-point scale.

S&P ESG evaluation

Standard & Poor's conducted an Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) evaluation of TenneT; an assessment of its ability to operate successfully, now and in the future. Standard & Poor's awarded TenneT the classification 'strong', with a score of 83 out of 100.


EMTN Programme

Through the EMTN programme TenneT Holding B.V. can issue senior bonds from time to time to raise financing on the capital market.
