Security of supply

The high-voltage grid is the backbone of the electricity supply system, connecting electricity producers to consumers, connecting and integrating electricity markets. TenneT manages the high-voltage grid in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany. A secure and continuous supply of electricity is the key objective of our operations.

Our key tasks

System services

Continuously monitoring the electricity supply and maintaining the equilibrium between supply and demand.

Transmission services

Maintaining and managing the high-voltage grid (110 kV and higher) and investing in its infrastructure.

Facilitating the energy market

Facilitating the electricity market and promoting an integrated market for electricity in North West Europe.
