Our key tasks

We are primarily tasked with providing power transmission services, system services and facilitating the energy market. Our core tasks follow from our appointment as grid operator under the Dutch 'Elektriciteitswet' (E-wet) and the German 'Energiewirtschaftsgesetz' (EnWG).

Our grid

TenneT manages the high-voltage grid in the Netherlands and large parts of Germany. TenneT transmits electricity at 110,000 volts (110 kV) and higher. With over 22,000 kilometres of high-voltage lines, we cross borders and connect countries.

Electricity market

The energy sector is developing rapidly. The process of European market integration began some years ago. Its purpose is to create a single European market that enables market parties to trade gas and electricity across national borders easily and efficiently.

Data dashboard

The Data Dashboard of TenneT TSO B.V. shows current information on load, generation and import/export in the Netherlands.

About the Data Dashboard

The Data Dashboard of TenneT TSO B.V. shows information about the actual load (i.e. electricity consumption) in the Netherlands. The dashboard displays key figures for the highest load today, the current load, and the maximum load in the past 12 months. The load and the change in the load compared to the previous calendar year can be consulted in the charts.

In addition, the dashboard shows information about the actual and planned production (generation) of electricity in the Netherlands. The dashboard displays key figures for the highest production level today, the lowest production level today, the current production level, and the highest production level in the past 12 months. The charts display the total realized and planned production.

The dashboard also includes information on the imports and exports to and from countries linked to the Netherlands via interconnectors (Germany, Belgium, the United Kingdom and Norway). The dashboard displays key figures for the current imports and exports and the current balance. The charts display the total electricity imports and exports, and the volumes imported from and exported to each country.

The data published by TenneT are based on public data provided by users, balance responsible parties and grid operators, and on public data concerning processes managed by TenneT. TenneT strives to provide correct and up to date information on this website. TenneT's information is entirely consistent with applicable laws and regulations.
